The members of the Hall of Fame Committee develop the application and guidelines for the AOSSM Hall of Fame. The committee makes the final selection of Hall of Fame recipients. | |
Committee Term: | Members-at-large serve three (3) consecutive years upon appointment; Chairperson can serve either two (2) consecutive years or (3) consecutive years, depending on when they were named to the chair role. |
Committee Size: | Maximum of 12 total, including 11 members-at-large and one (1) chairperson. |
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develops application and guidelines for the Hall of Fame.
- Reviews Hall of Fame nominee packets and fills out score sheets.
- Together with the group, deliberates on nominees and selects final Hall of Fame recipients.
- Each member is expected to promote the application process and actively seek potential applicants.
- Regularly reviews criteria for consideration for the Hall of Fame and update as needed.
Time Commitment:
- Two to three virtual committee meetings annually, including one extended meeting to select the Hall of Fame recipients each year. All meetings are held virtually.
- Occasional group chat discussion via email.
- Ability to review and fill out emailed nominee profiles and scoring sheets.
Qualifications:
- All members, except those in the International category, are eligible to serve as committee members at large.
- Chairperson must be an AOSSM Active Member.
Get Involved in The Society
Volunteer committees form the lifeblood of AOSSM and provide guidance for Society programs and projects. Every year, we accept new volunteers to serve on our standing committees. The application period will open in January.
