Helpful Partner Organizations

OREF

OREF is a leading sponsor of musculoskeletal research. AOSSM has partnered with OREF on many of our multi-center grants, but they have other grants in the musculoskeletal health space such as return to play and injury prevention. AOSSM members may be eligible for some of these grants.

NIH/NIAMS

NIAMS is the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, one of the constituent bodies within the NIH framework. Their array of grants in the domains of arthritis and musculoskeletal health may be relevant to AOSSM members.

International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC)

A committee of international knee experts stewarded by AOSSM and our members created the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) Subjective Knee Form. The IKDC form is knee-specific, patient-reported outcome (PRO) that measures symptoms, function, and sports activity. The form is a reliable and valid knee-specific measure of symptoms, function, and sports activity appropriate for patients with a wide variety of knee problems. The use of this instrument will permit comparisons of outcomes across groups with different knee problems.

Access, Licensing and Fees:

For investigators conducting academic research, the IKDC is available without a license or fee. Companies, vendors, or healthcare systems seeking use of the IKDC, please email AOSSM for details on licensing the instrument. Changes to the IKDC are strictly prohibited.

Pedi-IKDC

A modified version of the IKDC Subjective Knee Forms (Pedi-IKDC) was developed for use with children and adolescents between the ages of 10- and 18-years-old. The reliability and validity of the Pedi-IKDC are acceptable in a population of young patients with a variety of knee disorders.
