GivingTuesday has redefined the way society approaches charitable giving, transforming a single day into a global movement that ignites compassion, unity and philanthropy.
As organizations and individuals join hands on this day, the true essence of humanity shines, reminding us of our capacity to make a positive impact on the world.
For AOSSM, GivingTuesday serves as a catalyst for change, enriching lives and fostering a culture of generosity that extends far beyond a single day. The research your Society supports through individual donations has consistently proven its potential to transform lives and pave the way for improved patient outcomes. Member donations have far-reaching implications and empower individuals to hold an active role in shaping the course of healthcare and innovation.
This year, GivingTuesday falls on Tuesday, November 28 and AOSSM will be celebrating for the third straight year. Our goal is to raise $25,000 during November to support young investigators, osteoarthritis research, and international research on knee injuries.
Here are several key reasons why you might consider donating to AOSSM:
Fostering Research and Innovation: Research is the backbone of advancement, and AOSSM grants support research that addresses critical medical challenges. You can contribute to the discovery of new treatment modalities, surgical techniques, and medical breakthroughs that improve patient care.
Advancing Medical Education: Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by providing rigorous educational programs and resources. Gifts from supporters like you allow AOSSM to provide high-quality curricula, training materials, courses, and conferences that enhance the knowledge and skills of aspiring surgeons. Your donation directly contributes to the education and professional growth of the next generation of medical professionals.
Enhancing Patient Care: Well-educated and skilled surgeons are essential for providing high-quality patient care. When you invest in the improvement of healthcare delivery through a donation to the Society's educational initiatives, you ensure surgeons are equipped with the knowledge to make informed decisions and provide the best possible care to their patients.
Collaboration and Networking: AOSSM offers sports medicine professionals a place to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas. You can help provide a space where you and your peers share experiences, learn from one another, and work together to address challenges in the sports medicine specialty.
Donating to AOSSM is a powerful way to advance medical knowledge, patient care, and public health. Your gift on GivingTuesday plays a vital role in shaping the future of the sports medicine field and making a positive impact on society as a whole.
I choose to give to AOSSM because it is the backbone of our specialty. AOSSM helps train our future surgeons, keeps practicing surgeons on the cutting edge of contemporary treatment techniques, both surgical and non-surgical, and provides a strong advocating voice for our profession. The research funded by AOSSM is critical to furthering our knowledge of optimal treatment options for our athletes, and the educational opportunities provided by AOSSM have been paramount to my professional development."
