Careful assessment is vital for choosing appropriate treatments. Advancements include improved guides, CT imaging, 3D modeling, and personalized instruments for complex cases.
Fueling the Future of Sports Medicine
AOSSM is Fueling the Future during the inaugural Spring Fundraising Drive. Kick-off was May 12—the day the Society was founded in 1972. Every gift through July 31, 2023, will count toward our $40,000 goal to support programs such as the Fellows Course, the Surgical Skills Assessment Program, Young Investigator Research Awards, Osteoarthritis Research, and other research grants.
STOP is a Valuable Tool for Local Community and Coaches
The STOP Sports Injuries campaign, developed by AOSSM, offers education and resources to promote safe play, prevent overuse injuries, and manage sports-related injuries in young athletes through various means such as community education, safe training practices, and injury reporting protocols.
Research Update
The inaugural Bruce Reider, MD, Scholarship recipient was announced at the 2023 AOSSM Annual Meeting. Dr. Clayton Del Prince from UCLA Orthopaedic Sports Medicine received the first award, reflecting his enthusiasm for scholarly publishing, while the AOSSM Masters Competition continues to honor innovators impacting patient care, with this year's event on July 13, 2023.
