Meet the Editors 


Bruce Reider, MD

Editor-in-Chief Bruce Reider, MD, is also the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Sports Medicine and the executive editor of the AOSSM Medical Publishing Group. He graduated from Harvard Medical School and had fellowship training at the Hospital for Special Surgery, the University of Wisconsin, and Kantonspital Bruderholz. Dr Reider currently holds the title of Professor of Surgery Emeritus at the University of Chicago and continues to serve as the head team physician for all University of Chicago athletic teams.

Allen Anderson, MD

Associate Editor Allen Anderson, a private practitioner, is also an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and did a residency at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Anderson has served on the Medical Publishing Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the AOSSM. He has published over 80 scientific articles in sports medicine and journals, and has been chairman of numerous committees. Dr. Anderson was selected as the AOSSM Asian Pacific Traveling Fellowship Godfather for 2013, and is the 2015-16 AOSSM President.

Mark E. Steiner, MD


Associate Editor Mark E. Steiner, MD, currently serves on the editorial board of AJSM. He graduated from Columbia University Medical School and completed his sports medicine fellowship at University of Oklahoma under the direction of William Grana. Dr Steiner is a clinical instructor at both Harvard and Tufts University in Boston and on staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital. He serves as an orthopaedic surgeon to the Harvard University Athletic Department.

Daniel C. Wascher, MD

Associate Editor Daniel C. Wascher, MD, also serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Rochester and his sports medicine fellowship at University of California–Los Angeles. Dr. Wascher is currently a Professor and Vice-Chairman of Clinical Affairs at the University of New Mexico. He is also the Fellowship Director and serves as a team physician for the University of New Mexico athletic teams. .
