AOSSM offers a wide variety of resources before, during and after sports medicine fellowship training, including:

The Sports Medicine/Arthroscopy Match

For the 2018 Match through SF Match (https://www.sfmatch.org), eighty-six (86) of ninety-six (96) ACGME-accredited orthopaedic sports medicine programs participated in the Match rankings with a total of 226 positions. There were 248 applicant registrations and 81% of registrants submitted a rank list. Of all the programs’ positions, 86% were filled, higher than 84% of positions filled in the 2017 Match. The Match yielded positive results for the applicants with 97% of those who submitted a rank list matched to a program. The Match remains highly appealing for residents, as 69% of all applicants received their 1st or 2nd choice in fellowship programs this year.

Fellows Exam

The AOSSM Fellows Exam was developed to assist fellowship programs in identifying strengths and weaknesses in their fellows’ orthopaedic sports medicine clinical and practice management areas. This is a valuable tool for fellowship programs to use during training and for fellows to prepare for the subspecialty exam. The pretest and posttest exams are designed for both fellows and the programs to assess the status of education and learning during the fellowship year.

Fellows Resource Center

The AOSSM Fellows Resource Center is a one-stop shop for all current orthopaedic sports medicine fellows to access the latest AOSSM resources, including Online Meetings, AJSM, OJSM and Sports Health.
