Travel through time and space at Family Night at the Museum of Flight! It’s the capstone of the AOSSM Annual Meeting where you can network with long-time colleagues and new friends, enjoy food, drink and excitement. This spectacular venue will take your breath away with displays and history at every turn, and AOSSM will add special touches and opportunities to keep you and your family intrigued.The museum highlights stories from the past, present and the future of flight.
The Museum of Flight is the largest independent, non-profit air and space museum in the world! With over 175 aircraft and spacecraft, tens of thousands of artifacts, millions of rare photographs, dozens of exhibits and experiences and a world-class library, the Museum and its people bring mankind's incredible history of flight to life. Areas to peruse during Family Night include:
The Great Gallery - the most dramatic and largest exhibit area where you will find over 40 aircraft hanging from the steel and glass ceiling, along with more aircraft along the outer edge of the gallery. This space also houses special exhibits and motion simulators and includes the Flight Zone, an area dedicated just for kids!
The Red Barn exhibit area - the original Boeing manufacturing plant where they built their first planes. The exhibits present the history of Boeing and the history of aviation.
The Personal Courage Wing - featuring exhibits WWI and WWII aircraft that are displayed throughout the gallery along with many personal stories of the individuals that were involved.
