The generosity of the sports medicine community raised more than $2.25 million through the Million Dollar Drive campaign that will fund the continued growth of the profession through knowledge and innovative methods.
Members truly were inspired by the goals of the campaign and the impact their long-term investment would have for generations to come. The fund will fuel education, STOP Sports Injuries Program, and $500,000 in research grants slated in 2021.
The campaign was initiated by Neal S. ElAttrache, MD, during his presidential term in 2019 and supported by two prestigious leaders in business and well-known philanthropists, Stanley F. Druckenmiller and Kenneth Langone. Druckenmiller and Langone were so impressed by the work of AOSSM and its members that they pledged to match every dollar raised by the Society during the campaign, up to one million.
