Leadership & Committees

Current Leadership Team

The Society's leadership stems from the passionate work of AOSSM's Founding Members.

AOSSM's leadership bodies and committees are the foundation of the sports medicine community. Today, the growth of our 4,000 membership base and continuing medical education programs are guided by a Board of Directors, and led by our rotating Presidential Line. Long-term planning is facilitated within the 20+ Volunteer Committees that serve the continual development of leading sports medicine programs for the Society's members.

Committees

Volunteer committees form the lifeblood of AOSSM and provide guidance for Society programs and projects.

Committees’ charges focus on the Society’s pillars: sports medicine education, research, communications, and fellowship.

As an AOSSM member, we rely on your expertise and talents for us to continue to be the global leader in sports medicine education, publication, research and fellowship. AOSSM has multiple committees that have space for you to share your opinions and shape our organization from research to publication to self-assessment exam question preparation.

Details regarding each committee’s charge and composition is linked below. Volunteers must be able to participate in regular committee meetings. Appointment of volunteers to the Society’s standing committees is made by the Volunteer Appointment Committee (VAC), which meets in the spring of each year.
