AOSSM is now offering members the opportunity to post requests for research participants on the AOSSM website. These requests may
include links to the main project website or, for example, to an on-line survey such as through Survey Monkey. Information about the
studies will be posted under the “Research” section of the AOSSM website. All requests will be reviewed for suitability. Submit your request
to Bart Mann and include a summary of your research, the institution and individuals performing the research, and what will be requested
of research participants. In addition, please include any links that you would like to have included in the notice. Each study will appear for
free on the site for three months. Posting these requests is a service to our membership and does not reflect an endorsement or encouragement to
participate by AOSSM.
Shoulder Arthroplasty
Shoulder arthroplasty is being performed with increasing frequency for a variety of indications. Numerous studies have been published detailing
rehabilitation protocols based on patient factors, surgical indications, and implant selection. However, a relative paucity of data exists regarding
appropriate long term restrictions after shoulder arthroplasty.
To our knowledge no large surveys of experts in the field have been performed in regards to long term restrictions following shoulder arthroplasty.
We ask for your assistance in a survey of members of multiple professional societies regarding permitted activities after shoulder arthroplasty.
Data will be collected utilizing an internet based survey protocol (survey monkey) that allows collection of anonymous data. In no instance will
data be linked to specific persons participating in the survey. Please follow the link below to the survey. The survey should take
less than 10 minutes to complete:
