The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation is the one foundation serving
the entire orthopaedic community. In 1955, leaders of the major professional
organizations in the specialty--the American Orthopaedic Association, the American
Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Research Society--established
the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation as a means of supporting research
and building the scientific base of clinical practice. Today, the Foundation raises
over $4 million per year and holds a unique place in American medicine.
Each year OREF accepts applications from new investigators who wish to pursue funding
for their research. OREF's window for accepting applications is from April 1 through
August 1 with the exception of our Clinical Research Award which must be received by
July 1. For more information about funding, click here. All applications can be downloaded
from OREF's website, www.oref.org.
