Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach Launches in January 2009
Published bimonthly, Sports Health is a collaborative publication from AOSSM, the American Medical Society for
Sports Medicine (AMSSM), the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), and the Sports Physical Therapy
Section (SPTS). Sports Health will be an indispensable resource for all medical professionals involved in the
training and care of the competitive or recreational athlete, including primary care physicians, orthopaedic
surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other medical and health care professionals.
In its first issue, Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach will provide an exciting and educational array of
topics from ACL injury prevention and reconstruction, to cardiac condition return-to-play issues, to legal
liabilities with covering athletic events. Authors for these articles include some widely renowned clinicians such
as Frank R. Noyes, Darren Padua, PhD, ATC, and Terese Chmielewski, PhD, PT, among many others.
Members of AOSSM, AMSSM, or SPTS, will receive Sports Health as a benefit of membership, while members of NATA
