Denver, CO - The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado is seeking a board certified/board eligible orthopaedic surgeon in the area of pediatric sports medicine. All candidates must have completed fellowship training, have an interest in developing a clinical practice and research endeavors, and participate in our resident/fellowship education program. The position is for a surgical director of our Sports Medicine Program for Young Athletes. The program is a joint venture with the University of Colorado department of Orthopaedic Surgery and The Children’s Hospital. The program currently has two suburban ambulatory surgery centers both with sports PT gyms and office space, athletic trainers, and a growing research infrastructure. An outstanding faculty of primary care sports medicine physicians (2.5 FTE’s) is already in place within our department. Our clinical practice is based at The Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. The Children’s Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility with our new hospital opening in October of 2007. We are a very busy tertiary referral center with extensive pathology covering the entire spectrum of pediatric orthopaedic surgery. Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency is affiliated with MaineGeneral Medical Center, a two-site hospital system with a large service area and an established referral pattern for sports medicine patients. Athletic trainers are employed by the Medical Center and are utilized locally in all high schools. The coverage area also includes three small colleges and two international junior hockey league teams.
Located in central Maine, the Augusta area offers numerous opportunities including lakes, hiking, biking, winter sports and cultural events.
Salary is very competitive with potential of $225k to start based on experience, and benefits include a sabbatical program. There is NO CALL required for this position. Loan forgiveness available at $20k per year for 8 years. Relocation assistance up to $12k. Sign on bonus!
