AOSSM 2008 Specialty Day

The compelling agenda for AOSSM Specialty Day consistently draws a sustained
strong audience. Specialty Day is a single full-day program held each year in
conjunction with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' Annual Meeting.
The program includes symposia and approximately 25 scientific papers,
complemented by the John C. Kennedy Memorial Lectureship, a treasured
presentation by a speaker selected by the AOSSM President.

The AOSSM Annual Meeting continues to attract more than 1,500 physicians, allied
health professionals, and industry representatives to its premier educational
meeting each year. The conference is structured around four half-day Plenary
Sessions to maximize educational and social opportunities for all. The first
three mornings begin with an exciting roster of daily Instructional Courses that
precede the Plenary Session. The Plenary Sessions are highlighted by paper
presentations, current concepts, symposia, and debates.

Annual AOSSM Surgical Skills Course: Arthroscopy for the Athlete's Shoulder

The AOSSM Surgical Skills Course is an annual laboratory course. New for 2008 is a multi-site course format with the laboratory portion of the
course held concurrently in five cities on Saturday, May 17, 2008. The agenda highlights hands-on surgical skills and
refinement of techniques under the tutelage of notable sports
medicine orthopaedists. The 2008 Surgical Skills Course “Arthroscopy for the Athlete’s Shoulder” will focus on
four arthroscopic procedures. The didactic portion of the course will be self-study via a DVD or Podcast
delivered to attendees prior to the course.
