September 2007
Dear AOSSM Vendor Partner,
A few months ago, I began my tenure as AOSSM president with a tremendous sense of excitement and responsibility.
The excitement is because the leaders before me built a professional society that is benefiting our members, the
broader orthopaedic community, our corporate partners and, most importantly, our patients. My responsibility is to
continue to build a collegial, responsive and effective organization that fosters excellence, both clinically and
scientifically. I believe that success is a team sport, I and want to recognize the key role that our industry
partners play in the Society’s success. On behalf of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine (AOSSM),
we are pleased to invite your company to join our team as a 2008 sponsor.
Since its inception in 1972, AOSSM has been at the forefront of developments in surgical procedures,
the science behind injuries common to athletes, the treatments for these injuries, the dissemination of clinical
and scientific information, and in growing and sustaining an extremely active and dedicated membership.
Today we are a Society of approximately 2,300 members, and we have led the way in the development of new techniques
and instrumentation within the specialty. For the individual sports medicine physician, the Society provides high
quality programs that enhance our ability to care for the athlete at every point of the sports continuum. Through
your contributions to AOSSM, you are providing funds for the next generation of investigators and educators. Our
members are asking the provocative questions to the important issues in orthopaedic sports medicine, and the
answers will play an important role in their ability to improve patient care.
If you are already an AOSSM sponsor, we thank you for the significant contributions that you have made to the
specialty. If not, we invite your company to be a part of this prestigious organization by becoming a sponsor of
our 2008 activities through an unrestricted educational grant to AOSSM. Alternatively, if your organization is
a corporate partner with the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF), you can support one of these
activities by directing your contribution to AOSSM through OREF. In this way, your support will be recognized
by both organizations.
By taking advantage of one of the many sponsorship opportunities outlined in this booklet, you will gain exposure
to and recognition from AOSSM members who are leaders in their field. You will also benefit from outstanding
opportunities to interact with them and many other orthopaedists in scientific, business, and social environments.
Please take a moment to review the material in this booklet to find one or more activities to sponsor that are
consistent with the goals and objectives of your company. (Keep in mind that previous sponsors have the right of
first refusal on activities they have supported.) To join our impressive list of sponsors or to get further
information, please contact Debbie Cohen, AOSSM Director of Corporate Sponsorships, at 847.251.6288 or
dcohen226@aol.com.
We look forward to your support!
Sincerely,
