AOSSM Introduces Self Assessment and Board Review

The Self Assessment and Board Review is a tool for testing knowledge in seven critical areas of
sports medicine, identifying strengths and weaknesses in clinical areas and for reviewing diagnostic
surgical and therapeutic measures used in orthopaedic sports medicine. It is also a valuable tool to use
to prepare for the subspecialty examination in sports medicine and to meet the requirements for maintenance
of certification (MOC) set forth by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
Currently the AOSSM offers the AOSSM Self Assessment and Board Review (Version 3). Version 3 Self Assessment
contains 125 unique questions, images and answers along with
citations and references. You can choose to complete the Self Assessment online (web-based) format, print format
or obtain both online and print formats as a package (combination). Each format is described below. Completion
of the AOSSM Self Assessment and Board Review and an evaluation will earn up to 12 AMA PRA category I credits ™.
The print version of the AOSSM Self Assessment and Board Review qualifies for the MOC self assessment required by
the ABOS.
Online Format
The online format of the Self Assessment and Board Review is web-based and features images, links to
reference articles, instant results and unlimited access to test and re-test.

Print Format:
The print format is a hard copy of questions and preferred response book that allows the participant to
complete and return to obtain reports.
